Bring your tripod and take advantage of 90 minutes of uninterrupted photography in The Butterfly Experience before it opens to the public. Enjoy an intimate, up-close look at hundreds of brilliant live butterflies from North America, Central America, South America, Africa, and Asia as they flutter among colorful flowers.

Open to both professional and amateur photographers, this is the perfect opportunity to bring your tripod and photograph The Butterfly Experience for 90 minutes uninterrupted.

TICKETS: Tickets must be purchased in advance online. Walk-up tickets are NOT available. All visitors are required to have a Focus on Butterflies ticket for access during this special program. Tickets are $45 per person. Please note: tickets are for a specific date and can only be used on that date. You can exchange tickets for another date by emailing [email protected].

PARKING: Parking is available at the Conservatory (1500 Glenallan Ave.) or at the Visitor Center (1800 Glenallan Ave.). Parking at the Conservatory is limited and fills quickly.

ENTRANCE: Meet at the ticketing tent to the right of the Conservatory (1500 Glenallan Ave.).

ARRIVAL: You will receive a digital ticket in your email inbox once your purchase is complete. Remember to check your spam folder if your ticket hasn't arrived within 30 minutes of your purchase. For entry, please have your QR code readily available for our team to scan at the entrance.

PLANNING YOUR VISIT:

All visitors must have a ticket.
Arrive at the Conservatory a few minutes before your scheduled entrance time and have your QR code ready to be scanned.
Tickets are non-refundable. You may change the date of your tickets on the website by accessing your order (see your confirmation email to "View & Manager Order") and initiating a transfer PRIOR to your ticketed date. Once a date has passed, tickets are non-transferable.
Strollers are not permitted inside the Conservatory. There is a designated area outside the Conservatory where strollers may be left, however this area is not guarded and Brookside Gardens is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
The Conservatory is warmer than the outside air, and more humid. We encourage visitors to stay hydrated. Water bottles are available for purchase at the Gift Shop in the Visitor Center and can be filled at the fill station there. Open containers (such as cups of coffee) are not permitted inside The Butterfly Experience.

Focus on Butterflies at Brookside Gardens is an indoor experience in our Conservatory. For the health of our plants and animals, the Conservatory is kept warm and has high humidity. Tickets may be transfered to an alternative date on the website by accessing your order (see your confirmation email to "View & Manager Order") and iniating a transfer PRIOR to the ticketed date. Once a date has passed, tickets are non-transferable.

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. The service fees from Ticketsauce, the online ticketing platform, are nonrefundable as well.

WEATHER: In the event of forecasted extreme weather (thunderstorms or extreme heat), Brookside Gardens may close The Butterfly Experience in advance for the safety of visitors, volunteers and the staff. Ticket holders will be notified via email of the closure and will be given two options: transfer tickets to another date/time or receive a refund within 5 business days of the closure.

When lightning is in the area of Brookside Gardens, The Butterfly Experience will close for the safety of visitors, volunteers and staff. Ticket holders may wait until The Experience is able to re-open and enjoy a shortened experience or exchange their tickets for a different date by emailing [email protected]. Any unused tickets that have not been moved to an alternative date will be refunded within 5 business days of the closure.

MINIMIM PARTICIPANTS: The session will be cancelled if there are fewer than 5 purchased tickets within 24 hours of the start time. Brookside Gardens will make a decision on cancellation due to low ticket sales 24 hours before the start time of each session. Ticket holders will be notified via email if a cancellation is necessary and will be given two options: transfer tickets to another Focus on Butterflies session or receive a refund within 5 business days of the closure.
